GROUP MEETING DATES AND VENUES

We currently facilitate many Carers Support Groups throughout Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley, the main timetable for which can be seen below . These groups provide a supportive opportunity for Carers to meet other Carers and share some of their experiences together. The groups provide much information about the services and facilities available locally to Carers, as well as the opportunity to talk with fellow Carers and share the issues of daily caring life in a sympathetic and supportive environment.

The timetable shows the groups which a member of Carers Support Staff will attend and facilitate. The aim of these Support Groups is to meet the main needs of existing and new Carers. Each group agenda is tailored, as far as possible, to meet the needs of active and new Carers. Numerous topics of interest will appear on the groups’ agendas, such as Benefits Advice, Respite Care/Short Breaks etc…all topic based information to help in the Caring role. These groups are open to all Carers: new, current and those who have ceased in their caring role.

We also enable social networking groups that originate from the support groups. These social groups are open to all Carers and their aim is to extend the personal contact forged at the Support Groups in an informal and social manner. Many of these groups will often meet up for a pub lunch or other social activity. These groups provide the opportunity for Carers to meet together informally and to develop a contact network which offers general support throughout their period of caring and beyond.
